About Top Left

Building trails.

Building community.

Our purpose is to promote mountain biking by developing and maintaining trails that support a low impact use and care for the unique forests of the north Olympic Peninsula. Through hands-on trail work, advocacy, and education we aim to create accessible and responsible trail systems that inspire a lifelong love of the outdoors and strengthen connections between riders, volunteers, and local communities.

We envision Port Angeles as a regional destination for mountain biking, where riders experience the diverse terrain of the Olympic Peninsula through breathtaking trails that enrich both the community and the local economy. Through collaboration, trail-building innovation, and stewardship, we aim to grow the north Olympic Peninsula as a year-round hub for adventure and excellence in mountain biking.

Top Left currently manages four active trail zones — Dry Hill, Colville Trails, Mt. Pleasant, and The Zoo — with a focus on sustainable expansion, youth accessibility, and skill progression.

Since day one, this has been a ground-up effort, powered by thousands of hours of volunteer work and a shared belief that good trails make great communities.

Colville Trails

Port Angeles Mountain Biking Trails

Colville Trails is a family-friendly ride zone right off the Olympic Discovery trail that includes a flowy perimeter trail, a primitive pump track and a small drop & jump line. This area is great for kids looking to learn basic shredding skills. Top Left is actively planning a rebuild of this area for 2025. Learn more about how you can support here.

Dry Hill Bike PArk

Port Angeles Mountain Biking Trails

Dry Hill is the oldest, most concentrated network on the North Olympic Peninsula. Over 55 miles of single track, multi-use downhill trails are maintained in partnership with the Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR), ranging from flowy hand-built jump lines to techy roots and rock features. Dry Hill is also host to one of the largest downhill race series in the US, the Northwest Cup, which draws hundreds of downhill riders to the Olympic Peninsula each April. TopLeft added four new trails to the Dry Hill network in the past five years and works to revitalize the land when timber harvesting affords new opportunities to reshape the landscape for recreational use.

Port Angeles Mountain Biking Trails

The Zoo zone is truly unique, a network of 29 hand-built trails that begin at the top of a mountain called Kelly Peak and utilize the terrain’s natural features to add technical interest - lots of rock slabs and rooty rolls. Climbing is generally steep and involves forest roads, and the descents are chunky and physically demanding. It’s easy to get a lot of vertical descent in a relatively short distance, however, take time to enjoy the stunning views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympics.
